Unwind at alpenRelax in Obergurgl

After a day on the slopes, a hike through the Ötztal mountains or a strenuous tour, there’s one thing that’s particularly good for you: unwinding.

The alpenRelax sauna area at the Hotel & Apartment Alpenland Obergurgl offers hotel guests a variety of saunas, an aromatic steam bath, soothing ways to cool down and spacious relaxation rooms. A haven for anyone wishing to combine their active holiday in Gurgl with mindful relaxation.

Warmth and relaxation after an active day

The heat of a sauna can stimulate blood circulation, relieve tense or strained muscles, and promote physical relaxation. The heat is often found to be a soothing way to unwind, particularly after skiing, hiking or mountaineering.

Alternating between warm sauna sessions and deliberate cooling down stimulates the circulation and helps you unwind after an eventful day.

Saunas and steam room at alpenRelax

In the sauna area at Alpenland Obergurgl, guests can choose between different temperatures and atmospheres.

Finnish sauna

Temperatures in the Finnish sauna are around 90 °C. The intense, dry heat can stimulate blood circulation and help to relax tired muscles.

Bio sauna

With temperatures of around 60 °C and a humidity level of about 40 per cent, the bio sauna offers a gentler alternative to the classic Finnish sauna. It is particularly suitable for guests who prefer a milder heat.

Separate clothed bio sauna

Families with children and guests who wish to enjoy their sauna session in swimwear can use the separate clothed bio sauna. In this way, alpenRelax also offers a family-friendly way for everyone to relax together.

Aromatic steam bath

The aromatic steam bath combines temperatures of between 40 and 50 °C with almost 100 per cent humidity. The warm, humid atmosphere is often found to be soothing for the respiratory tract and the skin.

Cooling off with ice, Alpine mist and Kneipp pools

After your sauna session, there are various ways to cool down. In the ice grotto, a crushed-ice fountain and a fine mist of Alpine air provide an intense burst of freshness.

In addition, you can make use of the Kneipp foot baths with warm and cold water. The deliberate change in temperature invigorates and rounds off your sauna session.
