Cross-country skiing in Obergurgl

At the far end of the Ötztal valley, in Gurgl, there are cross-country trails with guaranteed snow cover, which are groomed from December well into spring. Over a distance of twelve kilometres, cross-country skiers of all ability levels will find ideal conditions, whether skiing classic-style or skating. Use of the trails is free of charge, and both beginners and keen amateur skiers will find plenty to enjoy here.

The Hochgurgl high-altitude cross-country trail runs on level ground above the tree line towards Königstal and is groomed for both skiing techniques, classic and skating. Thanks to the gentle gradient, both beginners and experienced cross-country skiers will find it easy to manage. An illuminated section of the trail also makes evening sessions possible. The start is above the Hochgurgl Chapel on the ski run.
