Mountain hike from Obergurgl to the Ramolhaus

The Ramolweg trail leads from Obergurgl, past the Gurgler Ache and the Küppele-Schäferhütte, up to the Ramolhaus at 3,006 metres. This staffed mountain hut is one of the highest in Tyrol and offers a direct view of the Gurgler Ferner. The well-maintained path requires stamina for a full-day hike.

Mountain hike to the Gurgler Schartl

On the peaceful western side of the Gurgler Valley in the Ötztal Alps Nature Park, the path climbs steeply up the slopes to the Gurgler Lakes. Passing Soomsee and Itlsee, the final ascent leads over the boulder field to the Gurgler Schartl at 2,932 metres. From the saddle, the view stretches far across the glaciers of the main Alpine ridge.

Mountain hike up the Eiskögele

The Eiskögele in the Gurgler Kamm is one of the most rewarding three-thousand-metre peaks at the head of the valley. From Obergurgl, the route leads through the Swiss stone pine forest to the Schönwieshütte, then on to the Langtalereckhütte and up to the summit at 3,228 metres. The upper section requires high-alpine experience and a good sense of direction.
