History & Hosts

Two Families and a Hotel: The Full Story

In 1956, Josef and Anna Fender purchased the Alpenland guesthouse, which had 20 beds. Over the following five decades, Adi and Frieda Fender gradually expanded the guesthouse, from extending the guest rooms and building a new dining room to creating the alpenRelax wellness area and new apartments. From these humble beginnings, the Alpenland has grown into today’s 4-star Hotel & Apartments Alpenland, which the Fender and Kieler families continue to run with the same warmth and hospitality.
