A traditional Obergurgl hotel
A family tradition
In 1957, our grandparents Josef and Anna Fender purchased the “Alpenland” house – at that time a house with only 20 beds. The provision of the guests was arranged from the “Fender” main house located in the village. The meals were transported with the help of a “food sled”.
Back in the day, the journey to Obergurgl was often adventurous for the guests and took several hours. They were personally collected from Zwieselstein, 10 km away, by Josef Fender with his carriage. Through the years, our parents Adi and Frieda Fender have constantly renovated, reconstructed, and extended the house. This way, today’s 4-star Hotel and Apartment Alpenland was created.
We do our best to responsibly carry on the tradition that has been lived for 60 years and look forward to your visit!
