#### Deep snow from the broad slope down to the steep couloir

The terrain in Obergurgl-Hochgurgl ranges from wide deep-snow slopes to narrow couloirs with rocky outcrops. This means that ambitious beginners and experienced freeriders alike will find suitable runs in the Obergurgl-Hochgurgl ski area. Well-known runs include the **Kirchenkar**, the slopes around the **Wurmkogl-Flankl** and the **lines in the Rotmoostal**. The region also hosts an international competition: the Freeride World Qualifier.

### Fun parks for freestylers in the Ötztal valley

Freestylers will find facilities to suit every skill level in Obergurgl-Hochgurgl. Beginners can practise their first tricks in **theFamily Park by the Bruggenboden lift**, whilst the larger snow park by the **Steinmannbahn** offers around 20 obstacles at intermediate and advanced levels. In Hochgurgl, the **Funslope** stretches for around 1.1 kilometres through moguls, steep turns, boxes, a tunnel and a large snow spiral. The Funpark in the Ötztal valley thus covers freestyle from the very first jump right through to advanced tricks.

Essential equipment includes an avalanche transceiver, shovel and probe, which you can test at four locations within the ski resort, whilst the Tyrolean Avalanche Warning Service provides a daily update on current conditions.
